OSA's organisational structure has grown to meet the needs of the cooperative's activities, changing the distribution of responsibilities as the cooperative has grown.

One of OSA's strong points has been its coordination team for management, control and planning in various departments, which has progressively grown, drawing on the medical skills and experience of the people involved.
In 2001 OSA set up its own Healthcare Management organisation playing a key role in planning, quality control and development of new models of service.
In 2003 it also set up a Scientific Committee composed of specialists in the medical profession and internationally prominent scientists entrusted with the task of guaranteeing proper scientific organisation of OSA’s activities and providing Healthcare Management with guidelines and support.
The Cooperative’s multi-faceted activities, number of active members and partners and distribution of its initiatives all over Italy have required ongoing updating of organisational processes.

In view of the evolution of the scenarios in which the cooperative works and the development projects it has underway, and taking into account the possibility of acquiring significant new opportunities for work in Italy and abroad, the Cooperative has gradually established an organisational model permitting:
  • planning and definition of goals for the future;
  • determination of responsibilities associated with management roles;
  • precise definition of roles, tasks and functions;
  • involvement of all parties in strategic decision-making;
  • definition and establishment of increasingly specialised areas of operation;
  • setting up of the control and verification system.
The proposed organisational model therefore involves subdivision of the initiatives underway into different areas of action, with a general director in charge of the production coordinators and area managers (competitions, administration, human resource management and membership office, budgeting and control, research and development office).
